The following are not my original words. I tried through Google to find the author, but alas I could not find him or her. But I do love what it has to say, and I wanted to share it. Please take the time to read it and leave your take on it.

Thank you, Spiney

Read This..This is where the blame really falls

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them..
Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?
Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?
You and I don’t propose a federal budget. The president does.
You and I don’t have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations. The House of Representatives does.
You and I don’t write the tax code, Congress does.
You and I don’t set fiscal policy, Congress does.
You and I don’t control monetary policy, the Federal Reserve Bank does.
One hundred senators, 435 congressmen, one president, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 535 human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this country.
I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress. In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.
I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason.. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a president to do one cotton-picking thing. I don’t care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator’s responsibility to determine how he votes.
Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault. They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.
What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits.. The president can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.
The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? Nancy Pelosi. She is the leader of the majority party. She and fellow House members, not the president, can approve any budget they want. If the president vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.
It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million can not replace 535 people who stand convicted — by present facts — of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can’t think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 535 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 535 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.
If the tax code is unfair, it’s because they want it unfair.
If the budget is in the red, it’s because they want it in the red ..
If the Army & Marines are in IRAQ , it’s because they want them in IRAQ
If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people, it’s because they want it that way.
There are no insoluble government problems.
Do not let these 535 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power. Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like “the economy,” “inflation,” or “politics” that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.
Those 535 people, and they alone, are responsible.
They, and they alone, have the power.
They, and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.
Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees…
We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess

In an interview with C-span over the Memorial Day weekend President Obama stated the obvious America is Broke.

Steve Scully of C-Span asked the President the following:    “SCULLY: You know the numbers, $1.7 trillion debt, a national deficit of $11 trillion. At what point do we run out of money?”  President Obama answered “Well we are there right now.” If this is the case and it is why do we wake up everyday to new proposals for another $30 billion for a bankrupt GM, $10-11 Trillion for National Healthcare. When your broke should you not cut back on spending instead of digging yourself in deeper?  Makes sense to me.  And how will we pay for all this new spending? More taxes for everyone.  Yes even though the President campaigned with a promise that only persons making over $250K a year would see tax increases, and the masses would see tax reductions, we are all in for huge increases in taxes. They have proposed a whole bunch of new taxes to pay for health care.  1st they want to tax food that’s bad for us starting with soda. Most all of us drink soda. I certainly do everyday though for me its been all diet for about 10 years and caffeine free for about 2.  There will be a new tax on every can & bottle of soda.  Then the whopper a VAT or Value Added Tax on everything that is sold.  this is basically a national sales tax on top of the sales tax your state or city already imposes. they are talking around 20-25%.  So if an when this passes in PA which already has a 6% sales tax a $150 I-pod will set you back $189 based on a 20% VAT. There’s change you can believe in.  They also want to tax health care benefits provided by your employer for the first time ever. So there will be less in your paycheck to buy the more expensive things you still need and want. Now this will really help an ailing economy. Let’s see you’ll have less take home pay to buy things with. So you’ll be less inclined to buy things, especially since they now cost at least 20% more. So we buy less, this slows down the economy, the Government gets less tax income, more people lose their jobs because we can’t afford to buy things. Yeah that will work.  But at least your get FREE health care! Wake up people nothing is free.  This Free health care may be the most expensive Free thing you ever got to the point where it bankrupts our country. Think about it, and please respond and tell me what You Think.  Thanks, Spiney

I had this e-mail forwarded to me today from a friend.  As I read it I got very upset. But being responsible before I forwarded to all my friends and posted it here on my blog I called the dealership to confirm it was true. I spoke to their receptionist. She told me unfortunately it is true. I told her I was very sorry to hear that and I would do what I could to get the word out. And also ask people to contact their representatives to ask how this could happen in America.  So please take the time to read this plea from a fellow American who is having his livelihood stolen from him, with help from the United States Government.
Letter from a Dodge dealer

My name is George C. Joseph. I am the sole owner of Sunshine
Dodge-Isuzu, a family owned and operated business in
Melbourne, Florida. My family bought and paid for this
automobile franchise 35 years ago in 1974. I am the second
generation to manage this business.

We currently employ 50+ people and before the economic
slowdown we employed over 70 local people. We are active in
the community and the local chamber of commerce. We deal
with several dozen local vendors on a day to day basis and
many more during a month. All depend on our business for
part of their livelihood. We are financially strong with
great respect in the market place and community. We have
strong local presence and stability.

I work every day the store is open, nine to ten hours a
day. I know most of our customers and all our employees.
Sunshine Dodge is my life.

On Thursday, May 14, 2009 I was notified that my Dodge
franchise, that we purchased, will be taken away from my
family on June 9, 2009 without compensation and given
to another dealer at no cost to them. My new vehicle
inventory consists of 125 vehicles with a financed balance
of 3 million dollars. This inventory becomes impossible to
sell with no factory incentives beyond June 9, 2009.
Without the Dodge franchise we can no longer sell a new
Dodge as “new,” nor will we be able to do any
warranty service work. Additionally, my Dodge parts
inventory, (approximately $300,000.) is virtually worthless
without the ability to perform warranty service. There is no
offer from Chrysler to buy back the vehicles or parts
inventory.

Our facility was recently totally renovated at
Chrysler’s insistence, incurring a multi-million dollar
debt in the form of a mortgage at Sun Trust Bank.

HOW IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA CAN THIS HAPPEN?

THIS IS A PRIVATE BUSINESS NOT A GOVERNMENT ENTITY

This is beyond imagination! My business is being stolen
from me through NO FAULT OF OUR OWN. We did NOTHING wrong.

This atrocity will most likely force my family into
bankruptcy. This will also cause our 50+ employees to be
unemployed. How will they provide for their families? This
is a total economic disaster.

HOW CAN THIS HAPPEN IN A FREE MARKET ECONOMY IN THE UNITED
STATES OF AMERICA?

I beseech your help, and look forward to your reply. Thank
you.

Sincerely,

George C. Joseph
President &Owner

Sunshine Dodge-Isuzu

Please think about what is happening here. This is the kind of thing that happens in communist and fascist countries, not in the United States. What happens to this man today could happen to you, your employer, your family tomorrow unless people stand up and say No More.  Think about it.  What’s your take on this? Spiney

I listened today to CNN’s State of the Union with John King. He was interviewing Budget Director Peter Orszag. He asked him repeatedly why a president who campaigned on promises of not doing things the way they’ve always been done in Washington and promised to eliminate earmark spending projects would sign a budget bill with over 8000 earmarks in it. Director Orszag said that there will be no earmarks in the 2010 budget but it was too late to cut out the earmarks in the 2009 budget. This budget to be fair has earmarks from both parties, but the budget was approved by a majority Democratic congress. When you have a Democratic President who was elected in pretty much a landslide on promises of Change and a Democratically controlled congress, why can’t he have what he wants. He would win over his detractors and show the average taxpayer that while they have to cut back in the tough economic times, so does the government. He should say I will not sign this bill until the most ridiculous earmarks are removed. That would show real change and real leadership. I urge you to go over to the CNN site and watch the video from this interview. It was revealing. I applaud CNN’s John King for continually asking the question, trying to get a straight answer from director Orszag.

Personally what I think is that while most people voted for Barack Obama for President what we really got was President Pelosi. What do you think? Spiney

Today the Dow drop to it’s lowest point since 1997 at 6763 down 299 points in one day.  The Dow Jones Industrial has gone down almost 24% since President Obama was inaugurated. Now I’m not saying it went down because he was inaugurated. It has gone down because of the spending policies of Congress and the Obama administration. And let’s give him the benefit of the doubt and say it’s not because of the wild spending and bailouts. Now is not the time to initiate the largest spending bills, new programs, raise taxes, and totally overhaul the health care system while every single day the economy gets worse. Where will the money come from to implement these programs when we will soon have double digit unemployment? The Obama administration wants to punish Wall Street for it’s greed and misdeeds.  But in doing this they also hurt the average American myself included who either have investments or 401k’s that are tied to the success or failure of Wall Street. This especially hurts those who are retired and had their life savings invested for their future. Many have seen their savings cut in 1/2.  And many who worked very hard and thought they could enjoy their golden years are now forced to go back to work. Notice when you go to the grocery store how many senior citizens are now working as baggers and check out persons.  President Obama was elected to give us change. If he gets his way with all of the new programs and expenditures he wants, the change in the basket on your dresser may be all the change you get.  Tell me what you think.  Thanks for stopping by.  Spiney

As I watched the Presidents speech to congress tonight there is one thing he said that I have to give a big Amen to. We need to become a great innovator and producer of those innovation.  I don’t remember the exact context but basically he said we invented the Solar Cell, but now the leaders of this technology are all overseas. Our Hybrid and Electric Cars will be using technology that we buy or license from Toyota with batteries from South Korea.  We invent so many of the hi tech inovations here in the United States, and then we let other countries, mostly in Asia lay claim to them and make all of the money of them.  The VCR and the Laser Disk, predecessor to the CD and DVD were invented at the RCA corporation in Lancaster, PA.  Both technologies were then improved upon and perfected by Toshiba, Sony, Phillips, etc and then imported by the millions back into the United States.  While they made billions on these, the RCA company shut down the huge plant in Lancaster. A  facility that was once a large employer with good paying jobs. They employed many engineers, technicians, and skilled workers who made TV’s, closed circuit television camera, and the Laserdisk players.  Locally now close to where Spiney lives is one of the largest producers of lead acid batteries, the Exide corporation. They should be making the batteries for the Hybrids, and all electric vehicles. They have the technology and many hard working employees who are willing and ready to get the job done.  We need to become a country that produces hard goods again. We can’t all be paper pushers, or work in retail. 20 years ago our future was to be a service economy and an information economy. Now most of that is outsourced to places who will work for 1/3 or less than the wages of a US employee. Most have gone to India. All you need to do is call customer service to find that out.  I hope that the presidents vision of a new Green Technology industry comes to be. It could be our 2nd chance at an industrial revolution.  Hopefully if we get this chance, we will keep the jobs here.  Spiney

In one stroke of a pen President Obama double the deficit of the United States. Then about 1 week later he promises to cut the deficit in 1/2 by the end of his first term through cuts in spending and raising some taxes.  Does anyone else see the bipolarness of this?  It’s like going out on a bender and then calling a family meeting to announce your quiting drinking. Both the President and Congress should have looked closer at their big spending bill the previous week if they wanted a good head start at cutting spending . Do we really need an 8 billion dollar hi-speed rail system between Disneyland and Las Vegas.  I’m all for Hi-speed rail.  We lag behind the world in Hi-speed rail but put it somewhere it can really help like between two major business centers like Washington DC and NYC.  Either way I digress away from my initial statement.  When announcing  that we need to cut the deficit did he really think we forgot that just 7-9 days earlier he doubled our deficit with the stimulus program and was proud of doing it. You can’t make this stuff up. One last thing. I’m tired of President Obama saying he inherited this horrible economy. President Bush is not solely responsible for the economic mess we are in. Congress had a large hand in it also. It takes congress and a president to create and sign off on a budget. Also while he may now have this economy on his plate he campaigned very hard to get this job. He knew what he was getting into. Quit acting like you found some big surprise behind door # 2. Hopefully someday we will all look back at these times and laugh about it, but I doubt it.  Thanks for listening… Spiney

I’m posting this from a new found blog I found over at the Humble Libertarian.com.  I found his blog about a week ago and I find I agree many times with his thoughts on our current situation. Please take the time to read and absorb this.  I really do think it’s time to look outside the big 2 parties.  We are one of the only democratic countries in the world who have been limited, mainly by big money to listening and electing only pan “D” or Plan “R”.  Spiney

The President announced yet another bail out package. This one is to help people who are in danger of losing their homes.  Many, and I will agree not all, are in this position because they bought a home that was way more expensive than the could afford. Many Americans who have done the right thing, bought houses they could afford, didn’t lie on their applications, or are renters are very mad that they will be paying to bailout people who tried to live beyond their means.

Many people did this with buying too big homes, leasing or buying cars they couldn’t afford, and buying many items: large screen TV’s, computers etc with credit cards. Now the cars have been repossessed, their behind on the credit card payments, and the houses are in foreclosure. I’m sorry but I don’t feel sorry for these people. I feel sorry for their children, but not them  I’ll tell you why. I owned a house once.  When I bought it in 1985 I bought the cheapest home I could find. It was a real fixer upper at $37,500. I got an old fashion mortgage at 30 years and 13.8% interest.  I made a 10% down payment and had to give blood to get the mortgage. At the time they would not give you a mortgage for more than 25% of your income. And you had to give blood, your right arm, and first born to get that mortgage. And they really made you sweat it. You applied and maybe 2-3 weeks later you found out if you were approved.

Now the people who are in these houses bought houses way over their head. Many times homes in the $150-200,000 price tag or more. They got in with mortgages with anywhere from 5% down to No money down.  In many cases they didn’t have to prove their income, debts, or credit score.  It was reported that in many cases all they had to do was have a pulse.  also many got in over their head by getting new fangled mortgages.  Many were adjustable mortgages. Mortgages that started at a very low affordable monthly bill, based on a low interest rate of say 3.5%.  But after a year or two, they ramped up to the current interest rates, or even higher. It was then that the real cost of that house hit home and they couldn’t afford it.  This was the real l payments for a $150K home.  Payments went from $395 a month to $995 a month overnight.  Other mortgages were interest only for the first few years, and other creative financing types to sell a home to anyone who wanted one.  That is how these huge developments grew up on our farmlands overnight. Now these people want the government to bail them out and let them keep their houses. But they are way over their heads, and no matter what the government does, they can’t afford these homes.

Here is how I did it.  I did own a home for a short stint, only 5 years. Due to a divorce we sold it to settle up.  From that point on I rented.  My first rental was a room, yes just one room a woman was renting out in her house. I think I paid $175 a month for that room and shared bathroom privileges.  Then I rented apartments. The highest I ever paid was $550 a month for a 2 bedroom apartment. I lived within my means.  I bought and drove used cars, and I drove them until the wheels fell off.  My current wife and I had a business for 15 years. during those times we rented studio space. We were tempted by nice big spaces, but we knew we couldn’t afford them, so we passed on them and again, we Stayed within our means.  At one point due to my health, 3 back and 1 neck surgeries, we had to file bankruptcy. We were offered a loan, that would have kept us out of bankruptcy. We got as far as sitting with the loan officer. At that point my Wife and I looked at each other, realized it was only a band-aid, and we couldn’t pay it back. So we walked away without getting the loan. We did the responsible thing.

To this day we rent. In fact we share a home with my wife’s mom. This helps her because she is a widow, and helps us. Even though my wife now has a well paying career we rent  and both drive used cars. Mine a 1991 pickup I inherited from my Dad, and my wife a 98 Volvo wagon, the nicest car we ever owned.  We have no debt, we pay cash for everything, no credit cards.  And we go on vacations, have computers and a laptop, and yes even a big screen TV. We saved and paid cash for all of them. It can be done it you save for it, and don’t have to have it NOW!

So I don’t think that we and other Americans who did it the right way, pay their mortgages on time etc should have to pay to bail out those who lied about their income and lied to themselves in order to have their dream home. I’m not being mean, I don’t want to see them fail. But They need to be in housing they can afford. A smaller home or an apartment. I never felt ashamed to be a renter. I was damn glad to have a roof over my head. And I was able to sleep at night knowing I could afford the monthly rent payments.  And I did whatever it took to keep that roof over our heads. My Wife and I had the studio, but I also worked driving all night as a courier, washed cars at a car rental agency, you name it. Did I like washing cars? no I was 39 and the other people were mostly high school drop outs. But I could look my landlord in the eye every month and hand him the rent. I did the right thing.

So how about you. Do you think we should spend billions to bail out people, maybe your neighbors so they can stay in their dream house? All courtesy of your and mine taxes, from our hard work. Please comment and let me know.  Thanks, Spiney Dave

Dear President Obama and the Congress of the United States,

Mr. Obama you ran on a platform of change. The American people and the world have great hope in you, that you will govern in a new way, and take us in a new direction.  The Stimulus package now in congress will set the tone for your administration and a large debt for us and more importantly our children and grandchildren. Please do not let it be a business as usual pork fest for special interest and friends of the elected.

I know you have great vision for this country. You can use this package to steer our country into a new shining direction, just like President Kennedy did with the space program.  There are so many long term projects that can not only create real jobs, but change the future of the United States into a real renaissance path.
For years I’ve heard about our crumbling infrastructure and how old and in need of repair and upgrading it was. But the money was always too much. Well it seems to me a trillion dollars should be a darn good start.  We have crumbling roads and highways, bridges that fall down or are in danger of falling, a woefully inadequate FAA Air Traffic Control System, Dams ready to burst. We have areas that are way too dry, and those that flood much too often. We have an overtaxed electrical grid that fails every summer. Our broadband access and Hi-Speed Cellular system is behind much of the world. We have urban areas blighted with burned out factories and tenements. These could be cleaned up and turned into new Clean Industrial Zones, Educational Campuses, Affordable Housing, or Green Areas and parks.  With this much money and private investment we can get out from under the thumb of OPEC, build the infrastructure for LPG, Hydrogen, or Electrical cars. build the Hi-Speed railways that the Europeans and the Japanese have enjoyed for decades. Build the technology to safely use the vast reserves of coal America is blessed with. R&D for truly safe nuclear power.  With a portion of that money University R&D labs could come up with affordable Solar to put it on the roof of all American homes.  Find a cure for Alzheimer’s which will bankrupt Medicare.  Put aside the money to care for and make whole our wounder warriors who have served, suffered, and saved our country. Make the changes needed to make America an exporter instead of the world’s greatest importer of goods.  Not all of these projects require government money. They could be shared with private money, and a volunteer or paid Peace Corps to invest in their future and that of their country. There are so many projects that can change our future for the good and make your presidency the greatest agent of change ever. Or you can go down as an also ran, who in reality gave us the same old, same old while making us more indebted to those who would love to see us fail and take our place as the World leader, China, Russia, and the OPEC nations.

So please President Obama hold true to your visions, the ones I feel deep in my heart that you have.  Create a better future for your girls. And Congress would you like to get out of your status of having a lower approval rating than President Bush? Then do the right thing, hold President Obama to his promises, and do what is right for all of Americas future. Not what is the right thing to do right now to pay off your backers, friends, and to get re-elected.  If you do the right thing we will head in a great new direction and get out of this temporary slump we are in now. But if you blow a trillion dollars for the same old back scratchers, then may God, whoever you believe in save your soul.

And finally Americans. This bill is before congress right now. Call or write your representative and the White House. Tell them to do the right thing. And as Americans don’t stand there with your hat in hand looking for your piece of this pork sandwich. This isn’t pennies from heaven here. We are talking the greatest deficit of all time. This money is being loaned to us by the Chinese ultimately and will have to be paid back by us, our children, and our grandchildren. This is huge and you better wake up and be aware and concerned. Do not let this one be slipped by us without your input. Be responsible, be mad, and be active NOW for everyone’s future.   Dave
